CANNABIS

On January 2021, Mexico’s Ministry of Health published regulations for the production, research, and medicinal use of cannabis. This exciting step will allow pharmaceutical companies to start conducting medical research on cannabis products for therapeutic, rehabilitation, and palliative care purposes. Mexico's population of over 126 million people positions it to become one of the largest  legal cannabis markets in the world.

At the moment, Mexico's Congress is in the process of legalizing cannabis throughout the entire supply chain. In other words, its commercialization, exports, and imports will be regulated from agriculture to distribution, and consumption. This means cannabis will not only be legal and regulated for medicinal purposes, but it will also become legal for recreational and industrial purposes.
